Our Goals for the 2017-2018 School Year
1. Implement a data-driven counseling program
We want to make sure that we are implementing counseling strategies that are meaningful and impactful. Collecting and reviewing data from students, parents, and teachers will help our counseling program to be as effective as possible.
2. Increase parent communication and support
We strongly value the partnership between school counselors and parents. Annual needs assessments, bi-monthly blog posts, and parent workshops are just a few examples of how we will stay connected with parents throughout the school year.
3. Identify and work with student populations with specific areas of need
We will rely on teacher, student, and parent referrals to identify specific groups of students who are in need of increased support in a specific area. Examples of special populations include students in need of academic support, students experiencing significant changes within the family, students with anxiety, and more.
