Mrs. Alaine received her B.S. in Child and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology at LSU (2014) and returned to earn her Master's Degree in Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling (2017). She has a passion for empowering students with tools to help them overcome challenging life experiences. You will likely see her incorporating evidence-based play interventions when working with children and adolescents. She finds it is the best way to connect, to help them to express themselves, and to allow them to reflect on experience. She loves partnering with parents and teachers to make a lasting, positive impact.
Katie Zylicz, M.Ed., LPC-S Grades 5-8
Mrs. Katie received her B.S. in Psychology at LSU (2008). She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling at Southeastern Louisiana University (2011). She approaches counseling students through adolescence as a ministry and it brings her joy to see them grow and mature in their ability to navigate the world around them. She develops relationships with students through classroom visits, group and individual counseling sessions and collaborating with parents and teachers. Her goal is leave students, parents and staff feeling heard and empowered toward personal growth.
